We have a lot of fun events and community activities scheduled for this fall. As a result, we realize there has been an influx of emails and information. In an effort to streamline the amount of updates you receive, starting next week we will post website updates and general pack news each Thursday. Until then, here’s a roundup of upcoming events in chronological order. At any time you can see a running list of events by date, or sign up for a shift, using the “Sign-Ups” link on the website’s top menu.

OCTOBER EVENTS

Popcorn Sales News
As our premiere fundraising opportunity, there is always a lot to communicate. Please bear with us as we try to provide you with the most complete information:

  • Popcorn Incentive Event
As a pack committee we are trying to help find ways to promote the benefits of selling popcorn to raise money for the pack as well as potentially selling enough to go to summer camp. We do recognize the fact that many members of our scout family have constraints on selling popcorn including not able to bring to work, multiple scouts to sell, or neighborhoods not conducive to going door to door. With that said, we offered an incentive last year to participants in the popcorn program for scouts and this year we didn’t fully discuss this. Knowing we are almost a month into selling and don’t want to try and have people scramble around to get additional things done, the incentive this year will be a little different:

(1) Participate in one (2 hour) show and sell event; &
(2) Sell one item on EACH scouts individual order

  • If your Scout(s) complete those two requirements they will be able to participate in an activity in January or February (still working out the exact details) to celebrate another successful popcorn fundraising year.
  • Scout Bucks: Don’t forget, there are many other great prizes like 100 Cub Scout Bucks for selling 600.00 in individual popcorn orders. Put simply, the more Scouts sell, the more they earn in Scout Bucks and toward their ISA!
  • Red Sox Drawing: The Annawon Council is running a weekly prize drawing. If a Scout has reached $750 in individual popcorn sales, please let them know and they will be entered in a drawing to win Red Sox tickets. Next drawings on Friday, Oct. 12th, 19th, and 26th.
  • Upcoming Show & Sells: Thanks for a great presence at the Lakeville Arts & Music Festival, Windberg’s True Value and Walgreens. Show & Sells continue next weekend, and we still need lots of help with sales at the upcoming Rummage Sale, too.  All Scouts in Class A uniforms and bring your best scouting attitude please!
  • All forms/orders are due October 26! Forms can be turned in Dan or Kristen at the October 12 pack meeting or at your next den meeting.
